What is Cornhole Anyway?
If you’ve never played Cornhole, the easiest way to describe it is to say that it’s much like horseshoes, except that instead of throwing horseshoes at a metal stake, small bags filled with corn are tossed at a 2″×4″ raised platform with a 6″ hole in it. Your team accumulates points based on how accurate your throwing is. If you toss your bag and it goes into the hole, you receive three points; however, even if your bag doesn’t go in the hole but it still lands and stays on the board, you receive one point. Play continues until one team has reached twenty-one or another agreed upon number. There are many advantages to playing Cornhole:
- It can be played pretty much anywhere…ever tried to play horseshoes on pavement? Not really possible, but the surface is perfect for Cornhole. You can play on grass, sand, concrete, or any other surface.
- The game can be customized…one of the beautiful things about this game is that you can design your boards with the colors of your favorite Professional, College, or even High School team. Throw on a decal and you can tailgate with pride.
- The game is safe…if you have small children, you don’t have to worry about them standing next to you as you play. A heavy horseshoe isn’t going to roll into your child’s leg.
- Anyone can play. If you want smaller bags for your children, you can get’em.
