Most people have probably heard of the feud between the Hatfield’s and the McCoy’s. Getting two people to agree on the exact history of Cornhole is about as simple as getting a Hatfield to agree with a McCoy about almost anything. To be honest, we’re not sure if anyone knows exactly where or when it originated. Some link the game’s origins back to the 14th Century in Germany; some people swear that it has its beginning in Cincinnati; still others will trace the game to western Kentucky. A number of sites credit a Midwestern farmer by the name of Jebediah McGillicuddy with the invention of the game in his barn to pass time with friends and family. Regardless of who invented the game or where it was invented, the truth of the matter is that its popularity is growing… it’s no longer a Midwest game… it’s an American game. Get on board and join the fun!
